Here are just a few of the comments received from the neighborhood stakeholders:
“Our City unanimously opposed the Las Lomas
Project and The Avenue at Santa Clarita is 6 times
bigger than Las Lomas! Because of the monstrous size
of The Avenue at Santa Clarita project, the plans should have
been shoved back at Jay and Joyce Rogers when they presented the plans
to this City; they should have been told to bring back new plans that
adhere to our General Plan.
It is a waste of everyone's
time when our City accepts projects for consideration
that SURPASS the Las Lomas project in size and scope! Even if
The Avenue at Santa Clarita project is cut in half, it will still be too
big to be so close to a quiet residential community and it will cause
gridlock conditions in the already overly congested Newhall Pass.
NO
developer has a right to destroy existing communities by building irrepsponsibly
with a wanton disregard for the horrific negative impacts their
project will have on the surrounding neighborhoods, using the excuse
that, as property owners, they have "rights."
We
are property owners with rights, too! As property owners with rights,
we have the right to save our communities from certain devastation from
Las Lomas-sized projects like The Avenue at Santa Clarita.”
~Pauline Harte
"Bravo, may the force be with you! Something like this is long overdue And what else
is long overdue is common sense in our city council, city administration and non elected city staffers that make decisions that affect us all. Congratulations and more power to We The People SCV!”
~Larry King
“Wow! This is great. You are really two great contributors to our community. Thank
you for this.”
~Marilyn Skiles
“Thank you for doing this. I too am tired of seeing the SCV turning into urban sprawl”
~Shaunna White
