Issue - 2.5 million sf development proposed for the old Smiser Mule Ranch

Location - Newhall, Between Calgrove and Lyons Av.

Founders -  Glenda Bona, Annette Lucas

The quiet bedroom communities of Newhall are faced with a pending giant development that, if allowed by city council, will change the face of our beautiful neighborhoods forever. A 2.5 million sf project that is 4 times over allowable zoning for the area has been fiercely apposed by a large group of residence in the Calgrove and Wiley canyon corridors. With WethepeopleSCV and CCC's websites, the issues around the project are well spelled out giving you the latest happenings.

Placerita Canyon Property owners

Issue - Casden development and North Newhall redevelopment.

Location - Placerita Canyon between Railroad & Sierra Highway

Members - 200

Leader - Ben Curtis - President

The mission of PCPOA is to preserve our rural equestrian way of life. That way of life is threatened by the North Newhall Specific Plan which would violate zoning standards and put, not only our way of life at risk, but threaten our lives and property as well. The NNSP would put an extremely high density project in an area FEMA has designated a Floodway; the proposed density would create traffic nightmares with a proposed at-grade railroad crossing as our only way in or out of Placerita Canyon which is already prone to flooding and fires.
